Achievements

DCI’s achievements have been realized almost entirely through the hard work and dedication of our team of volunteers. We deeply appreciate their steadfast commitment to DCI’s mission, and especially the generosity of our donors and sponsors, which have made these achievements possible.

Here are some of our achievements so far:

Education:

  • 1500 children currently enrolled
  • 1052 children have completed pre-school
  • 1612 children have completed primary school
  • 137 children have completed secondary school
  • 23 schools and 10 preschools under support

Vision:

  • 55,000+ eye screenings conducted
  • 5,500+ eye surgeries performed
  • 13,000+ eyeglasses provided
  • 100 primary ophthalmologists trained in pediatric cataract surgery
  • 800 families have received seeds, plants, and fertilizer for homestead gardens as a source of vitamins

Health:

  • 78,000+ instances of curative healthcare provided
  • 86,000+ instances of preventive healthcare provided
  • 28,000+ instances of pediatric healthcare provided
  • 5000+ children in project areas receiving access to need-based healthcare
  • 1800+ mothers given pre- & post-natal care
  • 1575 couples have received family planning services
  • 101 infants have received nutrient support
  • 400 patients have received referral service to specialists
  • 175+ instances of telemedicine provided by US doctors

Orphan Support:

  • 50 orphan girls receiving full support at Sun Child Home
  • 5 children from Sun Child Home admitted to prestigious Bharateswari Homes girls school
  • 1 child from Sun Child Home admitted to BIRDEM Nursing School
  • 200 children at government orphanages have received counseling services
  • 170 children at government orphanages have received winter clothes
  • 500 children at government orphanages have received dining materials
  • 600 children at government orphanages have received supplemental nutrition
  • 100 children at government orphanages have received sports clothing
  • 170 children at government orphanages have received sports equipment

Other:

  • 1113 families assisted with income generation
  • 500+ volunteers trained
  • 100+ wheelchairs distributed
