DCI’s achievements have been realized almost entirely through the hard work and dedication of our team of volunteers. We deeply appreciate their steadfast commitment to DCI’s mission, and especially the generosity of our donors and sponsors, which have made these achievements possible.

Here are some of our achievements so far:

SunChild Sponsorship Support:

  • 1000 Student getting one to one sponsorship support in 2023
  • 1114 Children got preprimary education through preschool up to 2018.
  • 1572 Children completed the Primary School Certificate (PSC) (class five)
  • 822 Children completed the Junior Secondary School (JSC) (class eight)
  • 431 Children completed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC)
  •  257 Children have completed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC).  Additional 24 will appear in the exam in August 2023
  • 1526  Families have received income-generating activity support
  • 897 Youth volunteers have been trained
  • 745 Adolescent girls have been trained
  • 5139 students are getting support in 21 Supported schools through awareness, health care, and different Competition.
  •  3580 families received winter blankets

Food & emergency (including COVID)

  • 12000 people of 2545 families received food support
  • 10100 people of 2239 families received emergency relief money during COVID
  • Covid awareness provided in 4 districts, 30 villages for about 100,000 people.
  • Created hand washing booths in 6 village markets for 10,000 people in COVID.
  • 100000 Masks distributed to Hospitals and the Social Welfare Department of Govt. of Bangladesh

Vision Support:

  • 100,900+ eye screenings conducted
  • 16,100+ eye surgeries performed
  • 14,900+ eyeglasses provided
  • 100 primary ophthalmologists trained in pediatric cataract surgery
  • 1800 families have received seeds, plants, and fertilizer for homestead gardens as a source of vitamins

Health Support:

  • 99,551+ instances of curative healthcare provided
  • 115,618+ instances of preventive healthcare provided
  • 49,605+ instances of pediatric healthcare provided
  • 3,664+ mothers given pre-& post-natal care
  • 4,253+ couples have received family planning services
  • 1902+ infants have received nutrient support
  • 588 patients have received referral service to specialists
  • 517+ instances of telemedicine provided by US doctors

Orphan Support:

  • 2450+ children at government and non-government orphanages have received different type of support including, supplemental nutrition, dining materials, tutoring, health and vision care, counseling services, sports clothing, sports equipment, winter clothes.

Other:

  • 1787 youth volunteers trained
  • 200+ wheelchairs distributed
  • 2000+ white canes distributed
