About Journey for Child Rights & Sight (JCRS)

The objective of the Journey for Child Rights & Sight (JCRS) is to raise awareness about the prevalence of the plight of underprivileged children worldwide and preventable blindness; and to find the solutions necessary to protect them and improve the quality of their lives.

JCRS began in 2006 at DCI's first International Conference on Child Rights & Sight at Yale University. To date, under the umbrella of JCRS, we have held seven very successful international conferences at Yale University and many discussion events, concerts all across United States and beyond.

The JCRS aims to create a stronger international network to strengthen our collective voice against child labor, poverty and blindness, and achieve a world in which all children can thrive. DCI envisions a world in which every child has the opportunity to dream and to make a meaningful contribution to humanity, a vision predicated on access to quality education, health care and vision.
