The Taste Of Bengal Event Organized by North Dakota Chapter

Distressed Children and Infants International (DCI), North Dakota Chapter organized a fundraising event, named ‘Taste of Bengal’ to support and contribute towards the mission and vision of DCI. The day long event had varieties of traditional bengali appetizers (samosa, Veg kabab, chicken pantaras, chotpoti, chitai pitha with chicken curry & shutki etc.), main course (Chicken and veg biryani with egg/potato curries), and desserts (kalo jaam, roshgollam kheer-toast, komolabhog, patishapta etc.) for sale. There were several traditional clothing (saree, salwar, punjabi), home decor, furniture, and jewelry for sale as well. The event also had fun events like ‘drawing with Bumpa Stark’ and ‘henna tattoo’.
The Taste of Bengal event, under the coordination of Ms. Rukhsana Haque Sheela, raised 5500$ including all the sales and donations. The event had more than 250 attendees from different nations, and was a huge success!
