I have always yearned in my life to help a child in need in my home country of Bangladesh, but I never knew how to make a difference. We consider ourselves very fortunate to be a part of DCI. We like to congratulate DCI on the completion of another successful year of operation and continuing humanitarian work with the rural poor in Bangladesh. Many people think for the poor but to actually do something about it and in a sustainable manner are indeed an evidence of trust. We have seen the way it not only changes a child’s life, but entire communities as well. I am proud to be a part of this organization. I visited my sponsored child, Rahima, last December. She was so nervous to meet me at first, but soon was smiling. I was happy that her parents were there to support her educational efforts. She has ambition and wants to study and work hard. At heart, she is still a little girl. She would like a talking doll, which I hope to take her on my return trip this December with my children. With our constant efforts, she will be educated and then one day will educate her children.
