Matching Gifts

Many companies match the donations their employees make to charitable organizations like DCI – that means you can double your contribution at no extra cost to you!

To find out if your company will match your contributions to DCI, just follow these three simple steps:

  1. Search online or ask the Human Resources Officer where you work if your company has a charitable matching gift program.
  2. If so, ask your Human Resources Department for your company’s Matching Gift Form (or find it online if possible) and complete your portion.
  3. Include the form with your next gift to DCI or send it to DCI for a previous donation (check your company’s policy first to make sure past donations are eligible).

How are Matching Gifts used?
Proceeds from matching gifts are assigned to DCI’s General Fund and are used for several purposes that are critical to sustaining our mission. These uses are as follows, in order of priority:

  • Covering any program deficits to ensure continuous provision of support to our project areas abroad.
  • Providing emergency support to affected project areas in the event of natural or human disasters.
  • Funding new child sponsorships in advance to expand DCI’s sponsorship network and provide immediate support to children at high risk of dropping out and entering the workforce while they wait to receive a sponsor.
  • Initiating pilot projects
  • Covering administrative and fundraising expenses needed to carry out DCI’s mission (~10% of DCI’s total budget).
