Jonathan Coleman

Jonathan-Coleman-1I am honored to be a part of DCI and hope to bring a better future for the children in Bangladesh, because they are the future of the country. I could never have anticipated that I would go to Bangladesh. There are many obstacles that would have prevented me from ever travelling there. I was given the opportunity to go to Bangladesh as a volunteer representative of Distressed Children & Infants International (DCI), and I spent almost two months in Bangladesh. This has truly been a life changing trip for me. The Bangladeshi people realize that there is a lot of work to be done in their country. Many people I met told me almost pleadingly that there is so much here, if only we fixed the poverty. I came to recognize the power of providing small changes in poverty stricken peoples of Bangladesh, but also the power of one person’s vision to change the lives of thousands of people. I am very grateful to the wonderful dedicated staff at DCI. My trip inspired me to get even more involved with DCI, and it confirmed my lifelong desire to work for humanity. –Jon Coleman DCI Youth Volunteer, CT April, 2009
