Khandaker-N.-Anwor-3I enjoyed spending time with the kids at DCI’s Sun Child Home for Orphans in Bangladesh. They are a really good example of how good care can make the difference. I would like to come back again and again to visit them. I wish them good luck. –Dr. Khandaker Nasimul Anwar Minooka, IL

Over this past Christmas Break I was in Bangladesh. My personal goal for this trip was to get a firsthand experience with the issues Bangladesh is dealing with and how DCI is planning to help alleviate some of these problems. Although I have visited Bangladesh numerous times throughout my childhood I had never been exposed to the worst of these conditions. Seeing the children suffering really opened my eyes to the terrible conditions that were happening in MY OWN COUNTRY! That really strengthened my resolve to try to help DCI’s efforts once I returned to UT. My hope is that through my work, DCI will be able to better serve my country and that my fellow countrymen will have the necessary tools to work themselves out of their undesirable situations. –Mushfiqa (Monica) Jamaluddin DCI Youth Volunteer, TX Dec 2007

I am having a great time working and collecting data in DCI’s Clinic for the Underprivileged. I really appreciate DCI’s hospitality. Also, I recently visited some DCI-supported orphanages, and I was truly moved by the changes the services offered by DCI are making in these children’s lives. I am so lucky to have been able to work there as a volunteer. –Saika Belal Nitol DCI Youth Volunteer

I am grateful to play even a small role as a volunteer for Distressed Children & Infants International (DCI) since its inception. DCI is a great organization that has established several great programs in pursuit of their mission to protect child rights and alleviate poverty. The Sun-Child Sponsorship Program in particular is a great way to get involved with DCI’s work and a great opportunity to change the life of an underprivileged child. As a volunteer for DCI I recently traveled to Bangladesh to supervise their activities and programs there. My journey was a life-changing experience for me and I really enjoyed my time in Bangladesh. When I arrived I received such a warm welcome from the DCI staff and it was so encouraging to see how dedicated and passionate they all are to DCI’s worthy mission. My work with DCI has helped me cast my eye over the horizon, to the astonishing things that are made possible by even the simplest efforts, gestures of encouragement and support. I know that DCI is destined to grow and accomplish even greater things with Rights and Sight for Children (RSC), Diabetic Association of Bangladesh (DAB) and other collaborators. Here I must need to mention and thank specially to Professor A.K. Azad Khan, President of Diabetic Association of Bangladesh (DAB) for his leadership and support for the mission. He gave me lot of time, even during his busy schedule. I am grateful to all of the DCI staff for their hospitality and generosity and I look forward to continue working together in the future. I encourage everyone interested to join DCI in promoting their noble mission. Brian Wayda Yale Medical School

After my visit to Bangladesh, I decided to devote myself to aiding the distressed children through DCI. I also want to work extensively for youth leadership development in the USA by motivating American children to take on more humanitarian activities. In the near future, I want to visit Bangladesh with an organized group of my American friends to conduct more humanitarian work for Bangladeshi children. –Arush Sarwar Kenner, LA
