DCI Celebrates World Day Against Child Labor

The Sun Child Sponsorship Program (SCSP) has celebrated the World Day Against Child Labor 2017 at its project offices. DCI has been working in Bangladesh since 2006 to provide education and prevent child labor through this program. About 100 children are continuing their education in higher secondary and graduation level, more than 200 students are waiting to complete the secondary education. All of them are getting support when they were in primary grade. 12 years SCSP helped them and ensured their education, otherwise they had the chance to evolve in child labor.

Case Western Reserve University Benefit Dinner

Case Western Reserve University Benefit Dinner

Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) DCI Chapter Organized a Successful Benefit Dinner as part of the Journey for Child Rights & Sight (JCRS) on October 8, 2016.
Distressed Children and Infants International (DCI) members at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) took to the stage on Saturday, October 8th and hosted a magnificent benefit dinner as a part of DCI’s Journey for Child Rights & Sight (JCRS). The event, featured entertainment ranging from traditional Indian dance groups to acapella singers. Dr. Ehsan Hoque, the Founder and Executive Director of DCI, attended the event and gave a very powerful speech. All the proceeds from the event are donated to DCI’s Blindness Prevention Program, and will be able to successfully fund at least eight surgeries. In poverty stricken areas of the world, many mothers are malnourished during their pregnancy which in turn, affect the baby. Many children are born with a high risk of developing congenital cataracts, which can lead to blindness during childhood years. The CWRU chapter’s focus is on the blindness prevention program, which seeks to provide screening and surgeries to prevent blindness. DCI congratulates DCI-CWRU chapter for a very successful event!
