Launching Vocational Services for Children with Special Needs

In September 2025, we proudly launched Vocational Services for children with special needs in partnership with our supported organization, the Tauri Foundation’s School for Gifted Children.

This initiative is designed to nurture the talents and creativity of these children by providing them with proper guidance and hands-on training, empowering them to become self-reliant and confident members of society.

The program will soon be expanded to include students with special needs in regular schools, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive and reach their fullest potential.

Counseling for Orphan Children

Regular counseling sessions are being held for the children at DCI-supported Shishuder Jonno Aamra and Ananda Nibash (ASD) orphanages.

During these sessions, instructors engage the children in discussions about adolescent health and well-being, menstrual hygiene, proper nutrition, dental care, and the importance of vaccination.

These interactive sessions aim to help children develop healthy habits, build self-awareness, and empower them with knowledge for a brighter and healthier future.

Free Eye Camps for the Underprivileged

We are proud to share the success of our Free Eye Camps held in Bauphal, Patuakhali in February 2025, and in Nilphamari during May and June 2025.

In Patuakhali, around 1,000 underprivileged children and adults received free eye care services. In Nilphamari, more than 2,000 individuals benefited from the camps. Patients diagnosed with refractive errors were provided free eyeglasses, and those with cataracts received free surgeries. Essential medicines were also distributed where needed.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Shahanshah Hazrat Syed Ziaul Huq Maizbhandari (K.) Trust (SZHM Trust) for generously sponsoring these successful camps and helping bring the gift of sight to those in need.

A Remarkable Milestone of Hope and Achievement!

We are thrilled to share that 45 of our sponsored children, 32 girls and 13 boys, have successfully passed the 2025 SSC Exam through DCI’s Sun Child Sponsorship Program. Alongside them, two orphan girls who have been lovingly raised by DCI since early childhood have also achieved this incredible academic milestone.

To date, a total of 516 Sun Child-sponsored children and 20 orphan girls have completed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Exam. Each one of these students began their educational journey with Distressed Children & Infants International (DCI), growing with the care and support of our compassionate community.

This success is more than just a number; it is a powerful reflection of resilience, opportunity, and hope. To every well-wisher, donor, and sponsor who made this possible, thank you for your unwavering belief in the potential of every child. Together, we are creating brighter futures.

We are thrilled to announce that all 40 students—25 girls and 15 boys—from our Sun Child Sponsorship Program have successfully passed their School Secondary Certificate (SSC) exams in 2024! DCI has proudly supported these students since their primary school days.

Among these bright achievers:

  • 7 earned A grades
  • 11 achieved A- grades
  • 7 received B grades
  • 13 attained C grades
  • 2 received D grades

Congratulations to each of these remarkable students! Their success is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the ongoing support of our donors and sponsors. Together, we continue to make a lasting impact!

World Environment Day

DCI’s Sun Child Sponsorship Program is celebrating World Environment Day! This year’s theme is “Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience.” We’ve organized awareness rallies and discussions in Patuakhali and Nilphamari districts, with kids, parents, and locals joining in. Plus, we held a Bangla essay competition at a Girls High School in Patuakhali on “Our duty to protect our beautiful environment.” Congrats to the top 12 winners who received cool prizes like fruits, forest tree plants, exercise books, pens, and drawing kits! Another 28 high scorers got tree plants and exercise books too as common prize. Let’s keep making our planet greener and healthier together! Join DCI’s activities on the climate and environment.

Supplies for Patuakhali Students

This March, education and hygiene materials were distributed to 600 students of our Sun Child Sponsorship Program area of Bauphal, Patuakhali, Bangladesh. We were honored to have Mr. Md. Bashir Gazi, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Bauphal as chief guest during the opening program on March 05. We are grateful to the Bauphal Upazila Secondary Education Officer Mr. Nazmul Islam and Mr. Ahsan Habib Kajol, DCI’s visitor, Australia chapter for attending the event as special guest. 600 students have received necessary education materials like notebooks, pens, pencils, school bag, geometry box, pencil box, drawing kits, calculator and hygiene materials like soap, nail cutter, toothpaste, toothbrush, comb etc.
