Actress Babita Visiting USA & Canada for “Journey for Child Right & Sight”

DCI’s Goodwill Ambassador, renowned Bangladeshi actress Babita Akhter, came to USA on February 20, 2012. As part of DCI’s Journey for Child Rights & Sight, Babita will travel to different parts of USA and Canada. She will stay in the US and Canada over a one month period and will attend small group events in various cities to build a stronger network for achieving DCI’s mission.
As Goodwill Ambassador of DCI, Babita first came to the United States on September 1, 2011. During this visit, Babita attended DCI’s Conference on Child Rights & Sight at Yale University and visited many other states (Illinois, New York, Texas, Georgia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and California) to raise awareness for DCI’s mission. Her excellent message encouraged everyone to get involved and help distressed children and their families. Many people came to meet Babita at these programs and were moved by her dedication and love for underprivileged children.

The Journey for Child Rights & Sight Benefit Show is a call-to-action to inspire our youth and global community to support underprivileged children around the world.

The aim of this campaign is threefold:
  1.  To raise awareness about child labor, child poverty, and blindness.
  2. To build a stronger network to fight against the exploitation of children, alleviate poverty, and prevent blindness.
  3. To promote the protection of child rights worldwide.
Please join us to assist in the fight against poverty, child labor, and preventable blindness in Bangladesh and around the world by attending any of our upcoming Journey for Child Rights & Sight events.
